No one hung back Tuesday 9 March for the 6 Degrees Salsa Competition's fourth and final preliminary round.
That $6000 cold hard cash first prize for the winning professioinal couple and a trip for the winning amateur couple brought them out.
Everyone put out their best game in order to make the up coming semi-final rounds. And there were some surprising entries.
Three Amateur couples put it out for the crowd and Dance to Live's Paula and Latin Energy's Vanesa the two judges for the evening. The couples are: long time person on the scene Irena and her partner Kurt; Milo and Karmelo, and Karen and Kunam[sic].
Four professional couples put it out there Tuesday night: long time performer and instructor Bong & Irina; Albert J. Gomez and Lauren; Olga & Yared; the globetrotting Gustavo & Madeline. All of the professional couples danced to the same song, selected by competition organizer Steps Dance Studio's Jennifer Aucoin.
When the dust settled, and the numbers were tallied, two amateur couples and three professional couples advanced to the semi-final round. The Amateur couples from Round 4 are: Irena & Kurt; Milo & Karmelo. Professional couples from Round 4 are: Bong & Irina; Olga & Yared; Albert J. Gomez & Lauren.
With the Preliminary rounds over, focus shifts to the competitors' choreographed routines, their way of impressing the judges, engaging the crowd, and demonstrating technical mastery of the dance! 2 minutes of mayhem from each amateur and each professional couple is coming at you! With a trip and $6000 cash prizes up for grabs expect intensity and even more passion!
And, SYTYCD-Canada's Celebrity Judge, ace ballroom dancer and choreographer Jean-Marc Genereaux is on the judging panel for the finals!
