Friday Night - TO is now da "T-Dot"

A sizzling show opened the 2nd Canada Salsa Congress Friday night. If Friday night's show was any indication, Saturday and Sunday will be over the top!

Latin Angels opened the very brisk, on time and very entertaining one hour and fifteen minute show with an all girl ensemble.

The packed house took on the air of a soccer match with a large Puerto Rican group waving flags.

"Any Seabreezes in the house?" Dave Melendez asked. And, the Bermuda group clapped and applauded in reply.

Oh yes, NYC's Dave Melendez was on hand again this year as the Emcee with the bestest lines east, west, north and south of the Pecos.

Toronto was well represented this year. A black & silver clad CityDanceCorps crew warmed up the crowd with some sensual salsa, while Roland & Gorette reprised their April Toronto Salsa competition routine.

Dave also put a word went out to the women,

"Ladies! Super Mario dances with everyone. He's the tallest peson in the building"

The million moves man brought all million moves with him.

And the show rolled on with Dave Paris & Desiree's spectacular lifts and aerials - a preview to his Sunday workshop.

Da T-Dot's turn on stage continued with Latin Dance Theatre's Samba version of the drum fuelled African dance that stopped the show Thursday night at Acrobat. And, like Thursday night, the crowd was left breathless.

Pavel & Dora continued with their special brand of salsa while Miami's Henry & Keraly's blinding armwork left everyone wondering what was left or right or up or down.

Oscar, Vanessa & Briia stole and closed the show as Little Briia, disguised under the wrap of two very very old people hobbled on stage. A coat flew open and the show really started with Oscar & Briia's feet flying, bodies twirling...

Briia stepped back as Vanessa came on, snapping off "High Fives" only as women can on the way by. Oscar didn't stand a chance...

The Sheraton is a much larger venue than last year with plenty of room for the show, and a first for salsa, a dance floor large enough for everybody to dance without bumping.
