The scent of money is definitely in the air as Round 3 of the Six Degrees Salsa Competition Preliminaries continued Tuesday evening 2 March 2010.
Steps Dance Studio's Jennifer Aucoin said it,
6 Degrees put it out there - for real! $6000 cash is
on the table for Professional winner of the Six Degrees Salsa Competition!
And, here's the picture to prove it!
The crowd also sensed something as they crowded in to watch!
"Back up a little more!" Jennifer pleaded with the enthusiastic crowd, "The pros need lots of room!"
Five amateur couples came out, emboldened by the previous two weeks of fun.
Leon & Belinda; Carmela & Milo; Iana & Roberto; Salineh & Alberto; and Rodrigo & Bianca put it out there, and if Tuesday evening was any indication, there is definitely a competition afoot, with some very very good dancers showing some of their stuff.
Word of that $6000 cash must be getting out as four professional couples entered.
Franco Dance Studio's Edgar & Julia, Strickly Salsa's Albert Gomez & Lauren, Rhythmic Fire Danz's Paul & Kathy, and Orlando & Mira put it out there.
Tuesday evening's two judges Latin Energy's Vanesa and City Dance Corps' Tina had the unenviable task of evaluating and determining which couples would advance to the semi-finals.
Evaluate they did and when the dust settled, three amateurs from Round 3 advance to the semi-final round: Iana & Roberto; Salineh & Alberto; and Rodrigo & Bianca; with three professional couples: Edgar & Julia, Paul & Kathy and Orlando & Mira advancing to the semi final round.
