It was hustlemania - yep, Bee Gees, KC & The Sunshine Band, even a Madonna tune - at Acrobat lounge Friday with Steps Dance Studio's Jennifer Aucoin.
Some 90 people, curious salseros, a few hustle people and the usual crowd packed the dance floor for the 9:00pm. Lesson. And one, step, step; And one, step step; Wheel; was the mantra as those 180 feet learned a new beat.
All too soon the hour was over, but, DJ Romantico played mix of salsa, bachata, cha cha, and hustle throughout the evening. A surprisingly large number of people were working the hustle sets too.
11:15pm. saw the latest Steps Student Group debut a performance.
Steps offers Hustle classes and there is a free one hour Latin Hustle practice 9:00pm. every Wednesday. Details on their site.
Acrobat may make a monthly event featuring Latin Hustle. People seen included old hustlemeister Bill Forsythe.
