Yorkville's Ba Ba Lúu's world class spooky Halloween decorated venue brought them out in droves Friday night.
Ghosts and Spirits celebrated Halloween and the ending of a musical entertainment era.
Long time Salsa DJ, DJ Julio played his last salsa and latin night at Ba Ba Luu.
But what a night to remember.
One tune after another, some new, many classic, all well known and each one better than the last kept them moving all night. Julio's two guest DJs also put out the tunes. All three did something not commonly done by the current Salsa scene DJs. They faded one song into the next without any noticeable change in tempo. No sound effects, no garbled talk overs or cheesy plugs - just straight music.
*And* one could hear the last note of the previous song as the current song came up. The dancers loved it.
Ba Ba Luu's staff - dressed as spirits - quietly circulated and selected the top five then the winning costume. Which for Friday night was a "Black Swan."
