Three days of Bachata and Zouk workshops came to an end Sunday evening at Toronto's Estonian House.
They streamed in a few ticks before 9:00pm. Sunday to see the final leg of a journey that started in October, the 2nd Toronto Bachata Festival Competition.
Sunday was the evening that would determine the Amateur and the Professional Class Champions.
Two short Zouk performances got the crowd focussed on the stage. Then it was one of the two main events.
First up were the intrepid Amateurs with their choreographed routines. The three couples that advanced from November's Semi Finals drew lots to determine the starting order. Then Fiona & Ag ; Kuntal & Kirt; Ellie & Davy took the stage.
Following the three Amateur pieces, another Zouk show gave the audience a break and the judges some time to tally scores.
The four Finalist Professional Couples then took the stage as the second main event of the evening. Some of them brought their own cheering sections, complete with pom poms and the big stadium No. 1 finger! And one of the judges even got the audience to do the big wave.
Finalists Elton & Maureen; Chantal & Junyan; Angelo & Kathy; Alex & Jayna drew lots to determine competition order and it began before a wildly enthusiastic crowd.
All too soon it was over.
But,everyone had to wait for the Witching Hour - midnight - for the results.
As the clock ticked down to midnight, all of the competitors, the judges and Stephanie took the stage to announce the results.
