Fri. 22 Oct. The Salsa Snack Bar was an outstanding success, apparently. From the buzz around the Congress, the portion sizes and the selection of good sized sandwiches and pizza had them lined up throughout the day, not only for lunch.

Wed. 13 Oct. It's getting around! SalsaTO.ca broke Dmitry's Proposal to Annie and it's going viral with Toronto Dance picking up the first go around!

Salsa Ambassadors from Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa dance schools will dance with you! Look for the folks wearing "glow-in-the-dark" necklaces 11:00pm to 1:00am at the nightly social dancing!

Don't forget no partners required for workshops - advanced lift workshop excepted. Instructors rotate the partners in class. Don't be afraid to ask someone to dance at the social dancing. Not sure of anything? Ask one of the Salsa Ambassadors!

The 8th CSC Salsa Ambassadors wearing "glow-in-the-dark' necklaces, drawn from Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa dance schools are friendly, patient and encouraging and are available to dance with anyone at any level from 11:00pm-1:00am. nightly. Better tie those dance shoes on. $20 in advance or $25 at the door gets you Doors opening at 8:00pm; world class breathtaking competition from 9:00-10:30pm & social dancing to 2:00am. TTC - Toronto Transit Commission - Public Transit Notes
The subway and most bus and streetcar service stops around 1:30am. with no subway service north of Eglinton after midnight except Saturday.
Note that TTC Sunday Service starts 9:30am, which may be too late to catch the 10:30am. Sunday Workshop start time.

Nearest free-standing Starbucks is 208 Queens Quay West - north side at York Street. 7-10 minute walk one way west of the hotel.
Westin Harbourcastle cafes and restos may serve Starbucks Coffee - not posted on the hotel site - check with the Hotel.

1. New venue this year! The Westin Harbour Castle Hotel - 1 Harbour Square - corner of Queen's Quay & Bay Street.
Thursday Gala Night is in the main hotel in the Harbour Ballroom on the 2nd floor. All Friday, Saturday & Sunday events are in the Westin Harbour Castle Conference Centre - directly across the street from the hotel. There is a covered walkway from hotel entrance to Conference Centre without having to go outside.

2. All tickets can also be bought in person at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. The event does NOT sell out - we have the largest ballroom in Canada!

3. If you have bought a pass online or from an instructor, please bring your receipt and a piece of photo ID to the Pre-Paid registration table at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel to pick up your wristband or ticket. 4. If you have bought an individual evening ticket in advance & have the actual paper ticket, you can bypass all registration lines and go directly to security.

5. All Platinum Full Passes (Package A) and all full Performer Passes include admission to the Thursday night Opening Night Gala & Canadian Salsa Championships. Please note doors open at 8:00pm on Thursday and competition begins at 9:00pm.

6. Please note - each person must pick up their own pass in person - you cannot pick up a pass for a friend.

7. Registration opens at 1:00pm. Friday 8 October and will remain open until 1:00am all weekend long.

8. Most passes are in the form of a wristband. Wristbands must remain on at all times, all weekend long. NO EXCEPTIONS.

9. There are a few hotel rooms still available. To book your hotel room after Oct. 3rd please call Melanie Andrassy directly at the hotel at 416-361-7445.

10. Shows - including competition - begin each evening at 9:00pm. sharp. We suggest getting there at least an hour early as there will be line-ups and seating is on a first come, first seated basis. Exception are people who upgraded their pass or paid for VIP reserved seating - arrive no later than 8:45pm. 11. There will be absolutely NO VIDEOTAPING and NO PHOTOGRAPHY allowed during the evening shows. Those who try to videotape or take photos will be escorted out of the ballroom by security. Thank you in advance for your co-operation. Videotaping will be permitted at the END of each workshop if the instructor allows.

12. Dress to impress. Leave the wife beaters - torn tees and ripped jeans at home.

13. The Canada Salsa Congress is an all ages event.

14. There is a coat check on Friday, Saturday & Sunday and cash bar each evening.

15. Late night tickets - after 11:00pm - can only be bought at the door.
