Something was afoot during Sunday night's show at the 8th Canada Salsa Congress.
MC Albert Torres rarely takes the stage during the show. That long 30 foot walk to center can take a long time and with lots of acts, the show can drag on.
So when Albert Torres and organizer Jennifer Aucoin took the stage after the Steps Amateur Performance, something was going to happen.
Jennifer started by saying farewell to Dmitry, one of her long time dancers. Apparently he is leaving Canada for Hong Kong. And Annie, Dmitry's long time girlfriend and Congress volunteer was moving on as well. Annie was called to the stage so the troupe could say farewell to the two of them.
As Annie made her way on the stage, the microphone was passed to Dmitry and he said he enjoyed his experience in Toronto and dancing and performing.
Then, Dmitry got down on one knee and proposed marriage to Annie - complete with a ring.
